Clinical & Counselling PsychologistLiezl is a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist and the Director of Excelsis Psychology. She works extensively with children, adolescents, and families, providing comprehensive assessments and evidence-based therapy. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, school difficulties, ADHD, and autism.
Liezl combines clinical expertise with warmth and creativity, tailoring her approach to each child’s developmental needs. She is passionate about empowering families to strengthen their connections and to support children in reaching their potential. Outside of her practice, Liezl enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new projects that promote resilience and wellbeing.

Amanda Scott
CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Clinical PsychologistAmanda is the Clinical Director at Excelsis Psychology and an endorsed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience. She provides comprehensive assessments for ADHD, autism, learning differences, giftedness, and school readiness. With a Graduate Certificate in Autism Diagnosis from the University of Western Australia, Amanda ensures that families receive accurate, practical insights to guide support and intervention.
She offers therapy for children, adolescents, and families, with a focus on anxiety (including OCD), depression, ADHD, and complex presentations. Known for her warm and compassionate style, Amanda tailors her interventions to each child’s needs while supporting parents to navigate challenges with confidence. She is passionate about seeing children thrive both at home and in school.

Liam Gately
Psychologist
Liam is a Registered Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. He supports clients with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, behavioural concerns, trauma, relationship difficulties, family stress, school-related concerns, neurodevelopmental differences and learning difficulties. He also provides diagnostic and cognitive assessments, including assessments for Autism, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders and intellectual disability.
Liam draws on evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, EMDR and Motivational Interviewing, and brings experience across Medicare, NDIS, ICWA and EAP pathways. He is known for his calm, clear and non-judgemental style, helping clients and families feel understood, build practical strategies, and move toward meaningful change.

Dr Aleksandra Wood
Provisional Psychologist
Aleksandra is a provisional psychologist who provides therapy and assessments for children and families. She offers evaluations for autism, ADHD, and learning differences, and translates results into clear, practical recommendations for home and school. With a PhD and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Aleksandra combines advanced academic training with international experience across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
Her therapeutic work draws on strengths-based approaches such as ACT and CBT, always adapted to the needs of the child and family. Aleksandra is passionate about ethical, collaborative care and enjoys supporting families from diverse cultural backgrounds. She offers sessions in English and Polish and brings warmth, compassion, and cultural sensitivity to her work.

Talana Naude
Psychologist
Talana is a registered psychologist with over 12 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. She has worked in schools, private practice, and most recently as the lead psychologist for the North Metro Student Services team. She is known for her calm, supportive presence and her practical approach to complex family and school-based situations.
Talana uses a range of evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, Positive Behaviour Support, attachment-based strategies, and schema-informed interventions. Her work is always developmentally attuned and tailored to each child, with a strong focus on collaboration with parents and schools. She values connection, playfulness, and building resilience in children and young people.

Candice is a registered psychologist with a Master’s degree in Psychology, working with children, adolescents, and families. She provides therapy and assessments for ADHD, autism, and learning differences, and supports families in understanding and applying results at home and school. Her areas of interest include anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, and perinatal adjustment for parents.
She integrates Attachment-Based Therapy, Play Therapy, CBT, ACT, DBT, and mindfulness into her sessions, always creating a safe and collaborative space. Candice is passionate about fostering resilience and strengthening family relationships. She brings warmth, creativity, and playfulness to her work, helping children and parents thrive together.

Dhiya Patel
Psychologist
Dhiya is a Registered Psychologist who works with children aged 9+, adolescents, adults and parents. She supports clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural concerns, school refusal, relationship difficulties, family and domestic violence-related impacts, adjustment issues, sleep concerns, social anxiety, OCD-related concerns, Autism and ADHD-related support.
Dhiya has many years of experience supporting young people, adults and families through complex emotional, behavioural and relational difficulties, including trauma backgrounds, neglect, abuse, family stress and NDIS-related behavioural concerns. She is completing her Masters in Clinical Psychology and working towards clinical endorsement in Australia.
Dhiya draws on evidence-informed approaches including CBT, Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, trauma-informed practice and skills-based intervention. She supports clients with anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, low mood, behavioural concerns, school-related stress, school refusal, friendship difficulties, family stress, adjustment issues, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem, sleep concerns, Autism and ADHD-related support. Kushca has many years of experience in educational settings and brings a calm, approachable and practical style to her work with young people and families. She also provides ADHD and Specific Learning Disorder assessments, helping families better understand concerns with attention, executive functioning, reading, spelling, writing, mathematics, academic progress and broader school functioning.

Catherine has experience across schools, community services and private practice, giving her a strong understanding of the different systems young people and families navigate across home, school, relationships and wellbeing. She provides neurodiversity-affirming and individualised support, including for young people exploring identity, gender, belonging and self-understanding.
